This too Shall Pass

My Eating Disorder is now a memory and not a reality because I chose to fight for freedom.
When you first start challenging your Eating Disorder there will be massive anxiety, uncomfortable guilt, shame and the body image distortion will feel more real than ever. Your distress will feel like you are out of control and there will be fear of the unknown but your eating disorder will lie to you about what will happen and the eating disorder thoughts will become really loud.

Sounds awful right. Well recovery is painful and probably one of the hardest things you will have to do BUT it is so worth it.

BUT IN SAYING ALL THIS…

If you keep challenging your eating disorder and don’t do what it says it will become redundant (there’s no reason for it to stick around if you don’t give it reason too)

AND….

The Guilt will pass

The Shame will pass

The anxiety will pass

The Body Image Distortion will pass

The Distress will pass

The Fear will pass

The Thoughts will pass

And you will thank yourself that you chose to fight because life is better on the other side when this is all a thing in the past.
